15th Treatment At The Block Center

Vitals good. That is, with the exception of having gained a whole 2 lbs. I've been told that this is a side effect of the Arimidex Major bummer! I'll just have to pull out the big guns to maintain my optimum weight. That, plus loads of discipline.

Jen, the PA, indicated my latest echo cardiogram was about the same as the last one; blood work was good; and the bone scan showed some degeneration in the lower portion of the spine (which I'm confident is pretty normal for a gal my age), with uptake (of the radioactive medicine) in left sixth rib, which could be from an injury (like falling over a tent stake) or coughing/hacking episodes like I had 4-6 months ago; none of which are of concern to the doctors. There was also low-grade uptake into the left sinus area (didn't realize I even had a sinus issue).

When she inquired about the state of the neuropathy in my fingers, I had to concentrate before answering--that's how much it has improved! Subjectively, I would say that I'm at 95% function. The carpal tunnel is still an issue, but I've had that for a very long time.

Due to a minor incident a few weeks ago involving my heart when at a resting state, we did an EKG there at the Center. It came out normal.

Have had a knee issue for a few months now. After talking with the physical therapist up there, and she with the PA, Jen recommended I see an Orthopaedic, thinking perhaps they would want a picture of it so we could perhaps get a better idea of what is going on. I'm positive this is NOT cancer related, but old age. In the meantime, I'll continue with strengthening exercises for muscles surrounding the knee (thank you, Stacia), and keep up with the Ibuprofen.

Overall, a pretty routine trip, this past Tuesday. We took the two youngest girls with us and I think they appreciated seeing what my routine is like up there, but not so sure they'd want to make the trek again. 'Tis a long drive and even longer when you make a stop in Whole Foods and then have to drive in stop-and-go traffic. No complaints, it's just the way it is.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
- Psalm 46:1
